JHS has launched a new version of its Fret-King Elise ‘GG’ Gordon Giltrap MKII.
Designed in conjunction with UK guitar icon Gordon Giltrap and Trevor Wilkinson the totally reworked design of the 2016 Fret-King Black Label Elise ‘GG’ MKII (£929 RRP) employs a two piece, centre joined mahogany chambered body with a double-carved solid maple cap and a figured flame maple veneer, finished in Antique Sunburst.
The direct mounted Tune-O-Matic bridge with inlaid ebony trapeze tailpiece provides tonal transfer and sustain, that resonates along a mahogany set neck and ebony fingerboard. The Wilkinson neck mini double coil and standard bridge double coil provide a wide variety of tones, thanks to the ‘Vari-Coil’ control that allows the player to progressively wind down the pickup to achieve single-coil tones.
“What a beautiful guitar Trev has created” said Giltrap. “I just love everything about it, from the luxury of ebony for the fingerboard and tailpiece to that classic antique sunburst finish. The pickup combination and ‘Vari-Coil’ are such a winning combination creating a superbly rich tone that suits my style completely.”
It comes with a Fret-King carry bag and is available now from JHS.
