Hughes & Kettner has announced a new compact all-tube four channel amp the Grandmeister Deluxe 40 (£1199 UK RRP).
The 40-watt amp features warm Cleans, classic Crunch, pure Lead brown sounds and Ultra high gain tones sitting alongside studio quality Reverb, Delay and Modulation effects.
Meanwhile, the channel- tailored boost differs in volume and frequency as you switch between them. All settings can be stored and recalled and it offers the possibility to create up to 128 sound presets and access them at the touch of a button with the optional FSM432 MK III MIDI foot controller.
Other features include the Power Soak and the new RedBox DI with Ambience Emulation. The Power Soak allows you full tube saturation at any volume level, even in silent mode, whilst the Red Box AE DI Out is claimed by the firm to provide the most authentic speaker simulation and ambience emulation on the market and enables convenient direct-to-desk operation in both live and studio situations.
A handy Noise Gate measures the guitars signal at the input, but cuts noise in-between the preamp and the effects loop and the GM40H’s inbuilt TSC – Tube Safety Control – constantly monitors and readjusts the bias of each power amp tube, ensuring that the tubes always sound good and last longer.
in addition, the free App for iPad makes the GM40H the only remote controllable all-tube amp in the world and lets you manage your presets and control remotely in real time, with all the amp’s controls available simultaneously on one screen, and can be wired with either an iRig interface or cable-free with the optional Hughes & Kettner WMI-1 Wi-Fi wireless MIDI interface.
