JHS has launched a new recorder range from established educational instrument manufacturer Angel.
The Angel recorders feature a simulated wood grain finish combined with cream coloured mouthpiece, ring joint and end piece, with a softer feel than standard plastic recorders – improving ease of play and providing accurate tuning and clear projection.
Between a Soprano and Tenor in size, the Angel F Treble Recorder (£29.99 UK RRP) has the same general shape as a soprano, but is approximately 50 per cent larger in all dimensions. A 50 per cent increase in length causes a 50 per cent increase in the wavelength for a given fingering. This lowers the pitch by a perfect fifth C to F.
Perhaps the most commonplace member of the recorder family, the Angel C Descant Recorder (A(£19.99) is designed for players of all ages and abilities.
Meanwhile the Angel F Sopranino Recorder (£14.99) is the smallest in the range. Made for the same soft-feel, yet hard-wearing materials, it is the ideal way to introduce the younger player to the recorder family.
All three come complete with stylish carry case, cleaning rod and joint grease.
Finally, ideal for the beginner, the Angel C Descant Recorder (£3.99) is finished in tough, eye-catching clear blue plastic.
