Klotz win for DC3 consoles

Klotz Communications has won the first project for DC3 consoles in Europe.

The DC3 consoles go into the main facility of the RMF Group in Krakow and are supplied through Klotz Communications’ distributor Studiotech Poland. RMF was the first commercial radio station in Poland, which started in the early 90’s. The RMF Group is part of Bauer Media, and RMF FM is their flagship program providing national coverage for listeners from 25-39 years of age. 

The project is the first phase for RMF to renew their overall system. That includes the upgrade of the Klotz VADIS equipment in the MCR and Newsroom with the new VADIS G2 network, and new DC3 consoles for the main two on air studios of RMF FM. The new MCR and DC3 consoles will be based on a TCP/IP network topology and the company is using the DX20 IPX/SPX to TCP/IP converters to integrate the older VADIS components and Decennium consoles of its other two programs. The new studiosDC3 console will be equipped with a 20-fader DC3 each. 

The monitor module of the DC3 consoles is equipped with Touchstone technology which combines traditional fader modules with a HTML based monitor section that will be programmed to the exact needs of RMF FM. The consoles feature a complex global N-1 matrix which offers up to 64 mono-equivalent N-1 clean feed busses per console. RMF trusts the low latency technology which the Klotz VADIS G2 network offers. 

With the DC 3 consoles and the new DX interface devices, Klotz Communications has a complete suite of products, which are backwards compatible with VADIS systems, and allow a seamless and gradual upgrade of existing systems without the need for large capital expenditure. The DC 3 control surface allows an in-situ replacement of older DC 2 surfaces, and the DX interfaces take care of the upgrade from IPX/SPX networks to the TCP/IP protocol. The new VADIS G2 engine and its interface cards are compatible with older generation VADIS technology.
