Korg has unveiled two new consumer competitions that will give musicians the chance to win a selection of gear and merchandise.
The firm has teamed up with music and sample sharing service, Allihoopa to host the #korg140 contest, which is open to all Korg Gadget owners who also have an Allihoopa account. To enter, musicians Open their Korg Gadget for Mac/iOS, set the song tempo to 140 and create an original song which they add to Allihoopa with the hashtag #korg140.
First prize is a Monologue; second prize will be a VolcaFM, and third prize is a nanoKEY Studio. The winners will be selected by Korg and Allihoopa contest committees.
It has also announced an international Instagram contest to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the microKORG. MicroKORG users from around the world need to follow Korg’s Instagram account (@korg_inc) and post a photo with the hastag #microkorg15. Then submit the photo to the appropriate contest category – I Love microKORG – submit one photo that “shows your love” for the microKORG
– My rare microKORG – submit one photo of a limited-edition microKORG or customised microKORG.
There will be six winners (three from both categories) with prizes including a Korg Monologue (in any of the five available colours), limited edition microKORG t-shirt or baseball cap, and a special t-shirt featuring a collage of the winning pictures.
