The London Drum Show, in association with Drummer magazine, is returning to Olympia London on 12th and 13th November 2016.
In addition to a line up of internationally renowned percussionists, Olympia London is due to host some of the finest drum and percussion manufacturers and retailers from the international drumming community.
This year will see a number of exhibitors returning, along with a host of brands new to both the show and to the market as a whole, with a truly international reach. Here visitors will be given the opportunity to get their hands on the very best gear and cutting-edge products available from all things drum.
Active Music will once again bring brands Ludwig, Alpine and Tycoon Percussion to this year’s show, and have provided a preview of Ludwig’s new range. The highlight of the 2016 Ludwig products is the limited Edition Tequila Sunrise Vistalite, a modern interpretation of the 1976 classic popularised by John Bonham, drummer for Led Zeppelin. The shell consists of a trio of Vistalite in red, amber and yellow and comes in a range of configurations.
Another modern take on a classic kit comes in the form of the new Club Date USA, featuring a brand new re-design of the classic Flat Imperial Lug. It is available in three configurations and seven finishes. Flat Imperial Lugs made their debut on Ludwig drums in the 30’s. The Club Date model was introduced in 1949 and went on as a popular configuration into the 70’s. The new Club Date features a brand new shell layup of 2-ply maple outer, 3-ply poplar core, 2-ply maple inner. Its sound offers full-bodied low-end combined with soft highs, and mids with pronounced volume.
Along with the reinvention of some classic kits, Ludwig is bringing new products, one of which is the Keystone Series Drums. Fusing the Classic Maple shell core with American Red Oak, Keystone’s “pre-EQ’d” tone sculpts focus and articulation for the drummer seeking volume, attack, and power. A balance between high-volume cut and subtle articulation is achieved for the live music drummer, putting a modern twist on a century of custom American drum making.
