Actor Tom Hiddleston, popped into Macari’s guitar shop on London’s Charing Cross Road recently to promote his newly-released Hank Williams biopic, I Saw the Light.

The fast-rising UK star plays the country music legend, who died on new year’s day 1953 aged just 29, and sings and plays all the songs in the movie. In this clip he spoke to The Guardian’s Henry Barnes about the role and Williams’ simple but affecting songwriting style. Quite why they didnt choose Hank’s in Denmark Street will remain unanswered.
