Musikmesse 2017 is looking to attract fans of modern and traditional brass music by hosting Woodstock of Brass Music’s finale of the ‘Copa Kapella’ band competition.
The competition concerts will be held on the new Wood & Brass Stage at Musikmesse on 8th April 2017– where there will also be a programme organised by the two partners covering all genres of brass and woodwind music on all days of the fair.
The winning band will make an appearance on the main stage of the Woodstock of Brass Music ( or Woodstock der Blasmusik for our teutonic chums – Europe’s biggest festival for brass music.
The competition will give five selected bands the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities on the Wood & Brass Stage on the Saturday of the show and to win a place in the line-up of Europe’s leading open air festival for brass and woodwind music.
The competition is open to groups of up to ten musicians, at least three of whom must play a wind instrument. There are no limits on musical genres.
To enter, bands should submit a video, in which they can be seen and heard playing, via download link to pr@woodstockderblasmusik.at. A jury of experts will make an initial selection, from which the five bands to appear in Frankfurt will then be chosen by online voting.
