AKG by Harman and UK distributor Sound Technology, has launched a new line of high-performance headphones.
Designed for musicians, producers and engineers on a budget, the new K52, K72 and K92 models feature large 40mm drivers that offer high sensitivity for greater output, wide frequency response for detailed sound, and low impedance for compatibility with personal music players as well as professional gear. The closed-back design features an ]acoustic chamber, which eliminates audio bleed and preserves privacy, keeping the sound in the ears of even the most mobile listener.
All three models weigh in at only 200 g (7 oz) with the open headband design reducing the overall weight of the product, offsetting the inclusion of large, high-quality drivers.
The headphones’ earpads, often the first component to show signs of wear, are replaceable.
The K92 extends the high-frequency performance to 22 kHz and also adds a gold-plated screw-on adapter plug to reduce the opportunity for oxidation and ensure performance over time.
“It takes a high degree of innovation and engineering focus to deliver this level of performance at these accessible price points,” said Peter Chaikin, Recording Solutions, Harman Professional. “With the launch of the K52, K72 and K92 headphones, AKG has demonstrated its commitment and expertise in delivering value to music recording customers.”
The AKG K52, K72 and K92 are all available now priced at £29 RRP ex VAT, £39 RRP ex VAT and £49 RRP ex VAT respectively.
