A new music store has opened in Poole, Dorset, boasting retail space and a live music venue.
Freestyle Guitars and Accessories in Holton Heath Trading Park stocks a range including the usual guitars, amps and drum kits but also has a recording space and a 250-capacity live music venue.
“We wanted to create something that would be an all-through experience for musicians,” said owner, Mark Patrick. “Whether they were just discovering their talent or needed a bit of help breaking out on a larger stage Freestyle has everything they could need.”
The shop opened with an official open day featuring live music, demonstrations, taster sessions and parent and toddler sessions.
They are going to be appealing to everyone from mums and toddlers to heavy rock bands looking for a recording studio, have a retail outlet for guitars and amps, and will also be a venue for live music for an audience of up to 250.
“It’s actually gone really well and there seems to be a lot of interest in what we are doing here,” said commercial manager Matt Park.
“There were people queuing up outside the door before the opening at 10am and have had a steady flow of people all day. We really just want to be instrumental in producing and nurturing the music making talent right here in Dorset.”
