PLASA Focus Glasgow, returns to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) on 18th and 19th January, 2017 for its third outing.
The event will again offer live product demonstrations, the latest technological innovations from manufacturers and distributors, alongside a two-day programme of seminars.
The events and festivals sector is a major contributor to the Scottish economy – both locally and internationally and this year Scotland has taken steps to invest in the future of the industry with the unveiling last month of a ten-year collaborative strategy to significantly grow the £3.5 billion industry.
The result of an 18-month consultation process involving the Scottish Government, VisitScotland, Scottish Tourism Alliance and over 100 active participants from the public, private and third sector, the Scotland – The Perfect Stage project aims to help the sector develop and deliver world-class events.
The new strategy aligns with PLASA’s own objectives to offers big businesses and smaller enterprises the chance to exhibit in a cost effective manner and in a face-to-face environment ideal for generating business.
Director of PLASA’s Events Division, Christopher Toulmin commented: “The Glasgow Focus show gives manufacturers, dealers and distributors the chance to showcase innovative technology in a region which is rich in cultural and international events.”
Last year the PLASA show grew by 26 per cent, highlighting the continuing potential for business opportunities in the region.
Toulmin continued: “The investment in Scotland’s venues, facilities and infrastructure for sustainable events highlights a demand for innovative solutions for use in live events, concerts, tours, theatre productions, venue installations and leisure attractions.”
