A brand new concept from Californian inventor and musician Michael Ahern, aims to revolutionise stage presentation and lighting for amateur and pro musicians alike.
StompLight is a portable unit, small enough to sit alongside a pedalboard, in a DJ booth or as part of any minimalist stage set-up, that produces dozens of colourful lighting effects at the click of a button.
“The concept is very simple,” explained Ahern. “Think of all the places where performers practice, record and perform where there is little or no theatrical lighting. StompLight solves the problem by creating an exciting, controllable light-show in a simple, durable and affordable way.”
StompLight effects include a Colour Organ Mode, Colour Wheel mode, and Strobe Light mode. It houses a built-in microphone with adjustable input gain, which allows the lighting to be synched with the music.
“It will change the way that artists and musicians perform, rehearse and record music”, he claimed. ”The patented design and integrated LED lighting promises musicians, DJs and theatrical performers fantastic stage lighting with the convenience of a single effects pedal.”
Ahern is currently looking to increase investment in the project through a Kickstarter campaign, and has also attracted interest from manufacturers and distributors on both sides of the Atlantic.
He added: “I want to help inspire performers, enhance their artistic experience, and help them be more successful. We are encouraging users to share their StompLight experience through video and social media. You can join the community at www.StompLight.com.”
Designed and manufactured in California, StompLight will be given its first public outing at the forthcoming NAMM show, where it can be found on booth 1183 in Hall E.
