Sound Technology has taken on distribution of Swedish firm Teenage Engineering’s products in the UK and Ireland.
The deal is effective from July 4th. Based in Stockholm, Teenage Engineering set-up in 2007 as a consulting studio for new consumer and communication products. With in-house electronic engineering, software development, mechanical engineering, industrial design and marketing, its client list includes the likes of Ikea, New Balance and Absolut Vodka.
In 2011, the firm’s first own-branded product was released – a musical instrument and mini studio named the OP-1 that was small enough to fit inside a backpack. With 16 hours of battery life it is designed to open up new ways of creating music for professional producers, artists and beginners alike.
The range also includes Pocket Operators, a range of six affordable, calculator-sized pocket synthesisers that includes drum machines, bass synths, lead synths, noise percussion and more. All feature studio quality sound, quirky LCD displays, built-in sequencers, and the ability to sync multiple units.
