Sakae Drums has added eighties sessions star Richard Brook and Berklee College of Music graduate Cristiano Castellitto to its artist endorsers.
Brook (pictured) provided live drums for a host of eighties 80s artists including ABC, Annie Lennox, Go West, Sugababes, Roger Daltrey, Tony Hadley, Rick Astley, Tinchy Stryder, Belinda Carlisle, Marc Almond, Nik Kershaw, Sister Sledge, Howard Jones, Five Star, Jimmy Somerville and a whole host of others, as well as playing in the Pulitzer Prize-winning production ‘Rent’ when it was hosted in London recently.
He also played percussion on the Grammy-nominated 2015 album Nostalgia by Annie Lennox, and, most recently, provided all the drums on the new Lexicon Of Love II album by ABC, released on 27th May 2016. He is currently Musical Director and drummer for Holly Johnson and is also MD/drummer for the international Rewind Festival, which is the top worldwide 80s festival.
He commented: “Amazing drums. The quality of build and the sound detail of both of these kits is a real credit to the Sakae designers and builders.”
Cristiano Castellitto, meanwhile, studied at Berklee College of Music, Massachusetts, the largest independent college of contemporary music in the world, and graduated with ‘Magna Cum Laude’. He moved to London in 2009 with the aim of becoming a performer and tutor.
He has played for the Grand Union Orchestra and has performed in many musicals and theatre shows, including the Olivier Award-nominated ‘This House’ at the Royal National Theatre.
He said: “Sakae drums, from the sound to the finishings, are a real work of art. They are simply stunning.”
