  • D’Addario To Implement Dealer Authorization Program

    Paige Tutt | Supplier Scene | December 4, 2014

D’Addario has always supported the philosophy that accessories should be accessible,” comments Vice President of Sales, David Via.  “However, that does not remove us from our responsibilities of proper channel management.  As the marketplace has changed a proliferation of supply outlets has emerged. This has occurred at a time that overall demand has remained modest. The result is that reselling desperation enters the market. Selling on the unique and differentiating value-added proposition that each retailer can provide has been diminished, if not all together extinguished in many cases. Our dealer authorization program will enable D’Addario to exercise its unilateral right to determine who is authorized to sell our products, and within what outlets they are authorized to do so.  We look to work with those who bring value to the presentation of our products. We offer a number of assets from in-store signage and merchandising, to online photography, detailed content databases, video links, etc. We want dealers to utilize these assets making it easy to present D’Addario in an attractive and compelling manner whether presented online or in a store,” Via added.

  • Ashly Breathes New Life Into Bourbon Square Casino

    Paige Tutt | Supplier Scene | December 3, 2014

Formerly called The Silver Club, Bourbon Square Casino recently reopened in the Reno-Sparks area of Nevada. In addition to a fresh New Orleans theme, Bourbon Square now sports a new eight-zone sound reinforcement system centered on an Ashly ne8800 processor and four two-channel ne800 70-volt amplifiers. The system also features iPad wireless remote control via the free Ashly Remote App, which allows the Bourbon Square staff to control the system intuitively.

"There was a four year span between the closing of The Silver Club and its rebirth as Bourbon Square," explained Mike Pristow, general manager at Vision Control Associates, the firm that designed and installed the casino's new sound system. "They were able to blow the cobwebs off the old sound system and power it up, but it sounded horrible. It was an old design with old equipment, and a lot of the loudspeakers were blown. We suggested a new multi-zone system using Ashly processing and amplifiers together with SoundTube loudspeakers. In addition to standard audio playback, they wanted to allow pages and prerecorded message delivery from their phone system with appropriate ducking."
