London Drum Show This Weekend

Ronnie Dungan • MMR Global • November 10, 2017

The two-day London Drum Show takes place this weekend at London’s Olympia featuring a host of well-known drummers, showcasing a variety of different drumming styles and also featuring many well known brands.

Exhibitors include Dream Cymbals, Carlsbro, DW Drums, Gretsch, Headstock Distribution, Istanbul, Ludwig, Korg, Mapex, Natal, Paiste, Roland, Sakae, Tama, The British Drum Co, Zildjian, Vic Firth and others.

Main Stage performers include R&B legend Aaron Spears, electronic pop and dance drummer Andy Gangadeen, Simple Minds powerhouse Mel Gaynor and Jimmy Chamberlin.

Jazz fusion drummer Anthony ‘Sweetstix’ Lewis will perform on the Masterclass Stage in association with Natal on Saturday 11th November.

Having toured the jazz circuit  and then the UK with Taio Cruz, and working with a variety of R&B and dance acts, Lewis now drums for UK singer Jess Glynne and has toured the world performing at many large festivals, TV shows and other public appearances.

Ellie Goulding drummer Joe Clegg and Katy Perry drummer Adam Marcello have also joined the performance lineup. Marcello and Clegg will perform together on the LDS Main Stage, showing off their techniques but also explaining and breaking down their performances and their hybrid acoustic-electric drum kits.

There will also be a special Buddy Rich tribute to honour his 100th birthday year with Ian Palmer and Mike Clark, and as Anika Nilles has unfortunately had to pull out due to an injury, there is another Main Stage artist still to be announced.

The London Drum Show takes place at Olympia London on 11th and 12th November 2017.
