Korg has made its popular 90s synth the Wavestation, available as an app for IOS devices and has also released an Android version of the Kaossilator.
As well as completely reproducing the programs, the Wavestation app also features a renewed design with touch-based operation and a new graphic interface. Sound and functionality are taken directly from the Wavestation itself, and it also reproduces through the software every detail of the parameters, based on an analysis of the original hardware circuit diagram, to reproduce a sound that could never be obtained merely by sampling the original hardware.
It includes a varied number of pre-sets and waveforms, covering all models of the series: Wavestation, Wavestation EX, Wavestation A/D, and Wavestation SR.
The six optional PCM and program cards that were popular with users at the time, as well as the KLC card that was newly added with the Korg Legacy Collection, are also included, bringing the total to more than 1,500 pre-set sounds, more than 700 waveforms, and 55 effects.
iWavestation can be used in conjunction with the Korg Gadget music production DAW app, can connect to a MIDI controller and play as an external sound module.
