New for 2021, the True Touch Training Kit is an innovative and comprehensive practice tool from TAMA that plays at the low volumes required for home practice situations. It also possesses a realistic acoustic kit feel, allowing drummers the accurate rebound and response they need for critical technique refinement and consistent skill development. The inspiration for this design was born from the idea that drummers should have access to the very best practice kit possible. Something that moved beyond the one-dimensional limitations of existing acoustic practice kits, and the lack of rhythmic detail inherent in many electronic kits. With the True Touch Training Kit, subtly in feel and acoustics were taken into great consideration in order to give drummers the highest degree of acoustic nuance necessary to advance their craft.
TAMA Merchandising Manager, Yoshiki Sakato, offered his take on the new design, “The True Touch Training Kit project started with the desire to provide an optimized drum practice opportunity. Our innovative product team analyzed the key elements necessary for meaningful drum practice and worked with quite a few of our respected TAMA artists on this project. I’m confident this kit contains thorough designs, including those subtle details typical to a TAMA product. You will be able to hear and feel a realistic acoustic sound, with your whole body, that really gives the drummer an authentic drum experience. For me, this is a very important element for drum practice. We are excited for drummers to check out this new product and enter through a new door to elevate their drumming technique and artistic expression.”
The True Touch Training Kit comes in two base configurations: four piece and five piece. There are also various add-on accessories available which allow for customizing the kit to closely approximate a player’s live setup. This new design balances controlled volume with a realistic acoustic drum feel for an entirely new practice kit experience, unlike anything that has been produced before.
