Supporting the welcome return of in-person large-scale trade shows, Allen & Heath USA partner, American Music & Sound, will be back at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) 2022 show starting April 24th. The team will present a range of updated Allen & Heath console and install solutions in the Central Hall, booth #C9816, not previously seen by NAB attendees.

Launched in late 2019, the Avantis console will be at the show for the first time. The 96kHz digital mixer is based on the British manufacturer’s XCVI FPGA engine and features its next-generation technology in a 64-channel/42-configurable bus console. It possesses twin Full HD touchscreens, providing engineers with a seamless flow between the physical controls and the onscreen software, plus an extensive range of I/O options and processing capabilities from the flagship dLive mixing system. While the company will showcase an array of live sound and broadcast-centric products from across its lineup, the new Avantis V1.13 firmware will be a special focus.

With the release of Avantis V1.13 firmware, engineers can monitor and control supported Shure wireless systems from the mixer, or from the new Avantis Director software. Allen & Heath and Shure have recently deepened their integration to enable native monitoring and control of Shure’s ULX-D®, QLX-D™ and Axient Digital™ wireless systems from Allen & Heath’s Avantis digital mixer. Avantis consoles auto-detect any supported Shure wireless systems on the same network and, with compatible hardware, Dante can be used for the transport of both audio and control data.

“Being able to monitor important wireless information like mutes, signal level and battery bars in Bank view to allow ‘at a glance’ multi-channel monitoring is a great new feature,” notes Allen & Heath USA Marketing Director Jeff Hawley. “We’ve seen Avantis in action in key broadcast applications from houses of worship to network streams to live concert events. V1.13 takes Avantis functionality up a notch when it comes to integrating top-tier wireless systems and we’re excited to show off the new tech at NAB.”

The latest enhanced dLive offering will also be on display at the show for the first time at NAB. dLive V1.9 is the largest firmware release in the history of their flagship dLive mixing system, with exciting new features including powerful RTA and sonogram tools, new DEEP expander and compressor models, a 12-band PEQ option for mixes, and Sennheiser wireless integration.

New to the NAB show is the range of AHM Audio Matrix Processors used in fixed installation projects for multi-room audio distribution. The original AHM-64 has been used at the heart of many installations from churches to large global media networks, and with the recent introduction of the smaller footprint AHM-32 and AHM-16 matrix processors, integrators can quickly create systems that build from a single boardroom to a complete campus. Supported by a comprehensive ecosystem of scalable I/O, control and Dante solutions, optional Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) module, and including 8-band PEQ, gate, compressor and delay on all input channels, and 8-band PEQ, 30-band GEQ, compressor, ANC, source selector, limiter and delay on all zone outputs.

Alongside the popular ZED, QU, ME, SQ, AHM, Avantis and dLive range of Allen & Heath products, the XB-14-2 compact broadcast mixer will also be on display. Offering a host of specialized broadcast features that normally come at a much higher price, including telephone communication (telco) channels, mic channel ON switch sensing, stereo channel start/cue outputs for playback device control, etc., the XB-14-2 is a perfect solution for either self-operated broadcast situations or when a separate studio and engineer is available.

“I think NAB is a great venue for showcasing the breadth of the Allen & Heath analog and digital console range,” adds Hawley. “We’re all excited to be back in person for trade shows and to assist folks in finding just the right console to fill their diverse audio needs. We’ll see you in Vegas!”
