Alfred Music Supports VH1 Save The Music Foundation

Alfred Music, in collaboration with The ASCAP Foundation, recently delivered over $14,000 of music curriculum and performance music to more than 35 school ensembles across the United States, in support of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.   

“Alfred Music’s core mission is to promote and support music education,” stated Ron Manus, CEO of Alfred Music. “The VH1 Save The Music Foundation shares our goal of giving each child the opportunity to experience music. Their program strengthens school music and provides more music-making opportunities for young people that would otherwise not have received musical training.”

Karen Sherry, executive director of The ASCAP Foundation, commented, “Our long-term collaboration with Alfred Music is a vital element of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation’s effort and is one of The ASCAP Foundation’s cornerstone programs. Our Foundation’s primary goal is the support of music education and there is no better way to achieve that than by ensuring that there is printed music in the schools to supplement the musical instruments provided by VH1 Save The Music Foundation.”

The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in US public elementary and middle schools. To date, the Foundation provided over $49 million worth of new musical instruments to 1,850 public schools in 192 school districts around the country impacting the lives of over 2.1 million students. 

Each year, Alfred Music partners with The ASCAP Foundation to supply critically-needed curriculum and performance music to schools that have been newly-equipped with instruments by the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. This partnership allows each young music program the ability to teach using the most current and relevant music education materials in the classroom.
