Allen & Heath has announced the launch of the Xone:K3, a fully customisable MIDI controller giving DJs, producers, and performers professional control over both software and hardware setups.
The K3’s rugged diecast metal chassis, nutted pots, and tactile switches are built to withstand the demands of touring, while USB-C and X:Link connectivity make it simple to integrate with Allen & Heath mixers including the Xone:96, PX5, 43C, and 23C. Support for star-topology USB setups allows multiple K3 units to be connected and recognised independently for expanded control surfaces.
“The Xone:K3 updates the K2 for the modern performance environment,” says Al Crombie, Xone Product Specialist at Allen & Heath. “We’ve expanded the control options, improved the ergonomics, added RGB feedback, strengthened the build with a diecast chassis, and created truly flexible connectivity. The K3 is at home in the booth, studio or on stage, and integrates with both DJ and production workflows.”
With 52 physical controls – including faders, pots, encoders, and backlit buttons – and three fully independent user layers, the K3 offers up to 174 assignable MIDI parameters per map. The free Xone Controller Editor app gives users the ability to assign MIDI CC or Note data, set RGB feedback colours, customise layers, and save or share mappings with ease.
Compatibility with existing K1 and K2 mappings ensures the K3 can slot directly into established workflows, while compatibility with popular DJ and production software makes it an ideal choice for both new and experienced users.
As a class-compliant MIDI device, the K3 requires no drivers and works seamlessly with macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android systems.
