Ampeg has introduced the Venture® VB-88 bass speaker cabinet, the latest addition to the Venture Bass family of products that also includes three amplifier heads and five additional cabinets. Venture Series amplifiers and cabs deliver the modern style and features sought by contemporary bassists—continuing a tradition of innovation that stretches back to the dawn of the electric bass.

The VB-88 is roughly two-thirds the size and half the weight of an SVT-810, while still delivering the same extended low frequencies and commanding stage presence.”
The Venture VB-88 is specifically designed for bassists who are looking for the performance and visual impact of the legendary SVT-810 cabinet, but in a more compact and modern-sounding cab. Paired with a Venture V7 or Venture V12 head, a single VB-88 will move enough air to rattle the rafters of nearly any venue. Two will handle even the largest venues. The VB-88 weighs 67 pounds and is rated 800 watts RMS/1600 watts Program power (4Ω). It is loaded with eight custom-voiced 8″ Lavoce® neodymium woofers and a variable high-frequency driver. This stylish front-ported cab is ruggedly constructed and covered in carbon fiber-style Tolex, so it will hold up gig after gig, while at the same time being one of the lightest large format bass enclosures available. An optional Portaflex®-style grille assembly offers an aesthetic alternative, while an optional padded cover will protect your investment.
