American Music & Sound (AM&S), in proud partnership with Women in AV/IT (WAVIT), is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jayna Ling Lunny to the esteemed Music Industry Internship Program, a key initiative focused on fostering emerging talent and providing invaluable mentorship connections in the audio-visual and music technology industries.
“As we welcome our fifth intern to the Music Industry Internship Program, I’m filled with pride at how this initiative is continuing to grow and make a meaningful impact,” said Brandy Alvarado-Miranda, WAVIT’s Founder. “Each placement reinforces the power of intentional mentorship and opportunity, and we’re thrilled to see how these talented young women are stepping into the AV/IT space with confidence and curiosity. This isn’t just an internship—it’s the beginning of a promising career journey, and we’re honoured to be a part of it.”
As a recent graduate from McGill University in Political Science, Jayna brings her passion and ambition to the AM&S Marketing Team. Her time pursuing her undergraduate degree was rooted in planning large-scale events such as McGill’s Arts Undergraduate Society Orientation and McGill’s Management Carnival for Cancer Research. Her commitment to empowering spaces forwomen shined through her work within Kappa Alpha Theta, where she served as Chapter President and member of the Panhellenic Community.
Through hearing how much the WAVIT program positively impacted her friend and past AM&S WAVIT intern, Jenna Brender, Jayna was inspired to pursue this opportunity as the first step in her post-grad journey. “This internship serves as the next step in the beginnings of my professional career that highlights my continuous passion for music and cultivating empowering spaces for women,”Ling Lunny noted. “I am truly so grateful to be a part of this team that will allow me to play a quintessential role in shaping the industry, what an honour!”
Throughout the internship, Ling Lunny will work closely with the AM&S marketing team, collaborate across various JAM departments, and engage with key customer accounts. Her responsibilities will include market research, social media strategy development and analysis, and event coordination for commercial and trade show initiatives. The program is designed to supportprofessional growth and provide hands-on experience that prepares interns for a dynamic career in the music and AV/IT industries.
“We are so excited to be working with Jayna and the WAVIT team for yet another term of the program,” notes JAM US MI/Pro Vice President of Marketing Jeff Hawley. “Aside from the wonderful bonus of hiring two past interns into full-time roles at JAM, the internship has been a great way for our team to stay in touch with upcoming trends in social media and content marketing as well. The JAM team shares and fully supports the mission of WAVIT to ‘provide a network that supports and empowers women in the AV and IT industries, through education, representation, and inclusion.’ Welcome aboard, Jayna!”
