Ten students were recipients of $1,000 scholarships for their prize winning entries in the School Band & Orchestra essay contest, “How Does Your Music Class Prepare Your For Life…”
Joel Menchey of Menchey Music presented the check on behalf of SBO and lead co-sponsor NAMM to 16 year-old Caitlyn Stupi and her music teacher, Jennifer Jones, of Westminster High School, Westminster, Maryland. In addition to the student prize money the winning school programs receive $1,000 in merchandise from co-sponsors Alfred Music Publishing, Sabian Ltd., Woodwind & Brassswind, and Yamaha Corporation of America.
