Ashdown Engineering the UK leading Bass Amplification specialists are proud to announce the partnership with Algam for exclusive distribution for Continental Europe, Maghreb, and Middle East from February 1st 2023.

After opening AlgamEko for the Italian market the opportunity came around to take the relationship further across the entire EU, having previously worked with a number of their divisions over the years from Music Distribution in Spain, AB Music in Benelux as well as the retail outlet Woodbrass.

Ashdown will sit within the company’s Gaffarel division alongside some great brands, the team in place have a long history within the industry and are ready for the task at hand. With the goal to re-establish Ashdown once again in the EU as the number one brand for bass.

With a strong European network Algam have set out a clear plan for the brand and product offering, looking at the best-selling products and focusing the EU offering accordingly. This opens new opportunities at Ashdown, with a clear product development plan into 2023 Ashdown will focus their attention to research and development in the UK and focus on supporting its home market.

With a global family of users that runs across all spectrums of the bass playing community, Ashdown Engineering remains as true to its roots today as in 1997, giving it a unique place in the hearts of bassists who know that just like them, Ashdown has bass in the blood.

‘Being a family father/son team, we share many of the same ethics and understanding as Benjamin and his father Gerard, having a passion for everything this industry has to offer. I am thankful for their trust in our brand and what they can achieve in the EU’. – Dan Gooday MD Ashdown Engineering.

Gérard Garnier remembering the good old days says:

“I have enjoyed working in France with Mark during the very successful times of Trace Elliot, and I am nowadays delighted to start a new venture with Ashdown on a Global level with all our subsidiaries.

A new venture and as well a new generation, both for Algam and Ashdown, with my son Benjamin, and Dan, Mark’s son, who will ensure the sustainability of both companies for the next decades.”

Ashdown will be supporting this appointment in the EU with an addition to its team to be able to focus on growth within the EU.

Ashdown will be exhibiting at the NAMM show in 2023 in April with a selection of exciting product releases from Ashdown and Meters, offering high-quality consumer electronics, bass guitars, amplifiers, bass cabinets, pedals and so much more.
