Bad Cat Amplifiers announced a partnership with Panthera, the global wild cat conservation organization, to connect Bad Cat’s passionate customers with the protection of big cats around the world.

The campaign will center around the promotion of Bad Cat’s Unleash V2 Reamplifier Attenuator.

With the support of Premier Guitar Magazine, Bad Cat Amplifiers’, “Save the Cats” campaign will include a major sweepstakes to award four new Unleash V2’s to winners over an eight week period and donate $1 to Panthera for every musician who registers, up to a total of $2,500. Bad Cat will also donate $5 for every Unleash V2 sold to musical equipment dealers through December, 2016. Donations will go to fund Panthera’s initiatives to help save some of the world’s most imperiled wild cats including tigers, lions, jaguars, leopards, snow leopards, pumas and cheetahs.

Panthera’s team of leading scientists, law enforcement experts and wild cat advocates work in 47 countries around the world to develop innovative solutions aimed at reducing human-cat conflict and increasing wild cat populations across their ranges.

Bad Cat Amps’ president, John Thompson, had this to say about the impetus for the “Save the Cats” campaign; “We were deeply saddened by the senseless killing of Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe not long ago, so we want the promotion of our new Unleash V2 to support the entire unleashed society of big cats, roaming free, worldwide, for many generations to come.” Thompson added, “The big cat is, of course, featured in our logo and factors largely in our identity as a business – we are very excited to partner with an organization like Panthera who are doing so much to protect big cats worldwide.”

“The remarkable allure of the big cats is both the greatest threat to their survival and the most powerful tool we have to save them,” said Luke Hunter, Panthera’s President and Chief Conservation Officer. “We are thrilled that Bad Cat has chosen to leverage its iconic brand and mobilize its large and influential customer base to help Panthera protect wild cats and their landscapes.”

The “Save the Cats” promotion and sweepstakes is set to commence December 14 with the release of Premier Guitar’s January issue. The sweepstakes will be promoted on Premier Guitar’s web site, mobile apps, and social media channels. Attendees of the North American Music Merchant Show (NAMM) which takes place in January in Anaheim, California may also drop by the Bad Cat Amplifiers booth to enter to win in person.
