The organiser of the London Bass Guitar Show has announced an official attendance of 2,192 for this year’s event, making it the most successful show to date.
It represents a 15 per cent increase over 2015’s show and is the largest attendance in the show’s six year history. Held at London Olympia, the London Bass Guitar Show featured performances and masterclasses from some of the world’s best bass players, as well as an exhibition hall full of bass guitars and amplification. Artists appearing at the show included Robert Trujillo of Metallica, Suzi Quatro, Jools Holland bassist Dave Swift, funk master Freekbass, solo artists Federico Malaman and Adam Ben-Ezra, Status Quo’s Rhino Edwards and Joy Division/New Order founder member Peter Hook.
Event Director, Steve Harvey, commented: “We’re delighted with how this year’s show went. Ticket sales – both in advance and OTD – were up, exhibitor stand sales were up and the significant efforts put in to secure such a strong line-up of artists truly paid off. Of particular note was how many European exhibitors and visitors the show attracted. I personally spoke to many who had flown in for the day, just to come to the show. It serves to demonstrate the event’s growing appeal. My highlight was watching Mark King jam onstage with Robert Trujillo and Armand Sabal-Lecco. Where else would you find three monster bass players on one stage at the same time but at the London Bass Guitar Show?!”
Dates for 2017 have been announced as the 4th & 5th March 2017. The organisers report that applications for space are already being taken.
