Celebrating its centennial, beyerdynamic – the preferred audio brand for musicians and studio professionals around the world – is embarking on a new chapter with the announcement of a limited-edition version of the classic DT 770 PRO. Handmade in Germany, the all-new DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition blends the reference-setting features of the DT 770 PRO with the dynamic STELLAR.45 driver system’s flexibility and a detachable cable. Redefining studio gear for a new era, the DT 770 PRO X is now available in limited quantities for pre-order at Guitar Center and Sweetwater for $199, with wider availability to come later in the year.

In today’s fluid landscape of music creation, having the flexibility to work with a variety of applications is paramount. The DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition features the convenience of a detachable Mini-XLR cable so you can move freely while you create. A recess in the headband padding also protects against the pressure-sensitive fontanelle, allowing you to wear the headphones for hours on end. With premium sound quality, replaceable parts, low impedance and high-wearing comfort, the DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition is tailor-made for studio professionals, artists, filmmakers, producers and more.

“We wanted to commemorate our 100-year milestone by creating headphones that pay homage to our past, and empower studio professionals of the future to work however and wherever their inspiration strikes,” said beyerdynamic CEO Andreas Rapp. “By combining the beloved features of the DT 770 PRO with the latest driver technology of the DT 700 PRO X, whether you’re in a bustling studio or recording at home, the DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition delivers an unparalleled performance.”

100 Years of Audio History.

Since 1924, beyerdynamic has maintained its reputation as a trusted audio brand, primarily due to its pristine sound quality and creation of the first dynamic headphone – the DT 48. In 1985, the introduction of the DT 770 PRO and DT 990 PRO studio headphones set new standards for professional musicians, producers and recording studios globally. Then, in 2021, the company unveiled the PRO X series, which offered modern creators the best sound for recording and streaming. Today, beyerdynamic is combining the best characteristics of the DT PRO and DT PRO X lines with improved comfort, acoustics and flexibility to create the all-new DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition – made for those who want the best.

As beyerdynamic reaches its 100th anniversary, it was important for the design of the DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition headphones to pay tribute to this accomplishment. On the side of the headband, a limited-edition anniversary emblem is hot stamped in silver and features the beyerdynamic logo.

The DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition comes with ultra-soft gray velour earpads, a 3m Mini-XLR to 3.5mm jack cable, a 3.5mm to 6.3mm jack adapter, a drawstring bag and an anniversary booklet with visual assets and information about beyerdynamic’s storied history.

Availability and Pricing

The DT 770 PRO X studio headphones are available in limited quantities for pre-order at Guitar Center and Sweetwater for $199. Additional availability will be announced later this year.
