    Music Group has appointed Karan Kathuria to the post of Senior Manager, Professional Division for Asia Pacific, which includes the key business segments of China and India. Karan will report to Graham Rowlands, who heads Global Sales for the Professional Division.

    In his new role, Kathura will be responsible for growing the Music Group's Professional Division brands Midas, Klark Teknik, and Turbosound, as well as taking an active role in managing the distribution networks across multiple countries in APAC region.

    KMC Music has appointed Darren Wallace as brand manager for Ovation Guitars. As a master luthier, Wallace has been an integral part of Ovation’s product design and development throughout his 21 years with the company. He began his career at Ovation managing the Standard Balladeer Cell, working up to production manager and then Engineering and R&D manager. As brand manager, Wallace will oversee all Ovation brand activity, including manufacturing, new product development and strategic marketing.

  • Flammia to Manage Commercial Channel for PreSonus

    PreSonus has announced that Tony Flammia has accepted the position of commercial channel manager. In his new position, Flammia will work closely with PreSonus/WorxAudio Loudspeaker Division managing director Hugh Sarvis on new loudspeaker systems that integrate AVB (Audio Video Bridging) and Dante digital audio networking technologies. In addition, he will train systems integrators to install and use these systems.

    Flammia is well suited for his new responsibilities, having spent most of his career as a systems integrator, designing and installing AVL (audio, video, and lighting) systems in churches all over the USA, including many WorxAudio systems. Always on top of the latest technology, he has the distinction of completing the first AFMG FIRmaker beam steering project in the world. A proven businessman and entrepreneur who is intimately familiar with both WorxAudio and PreSonus products and technologies, Flammia founded Creative Sound Solutions of Cape Coral, Florida in June 2007 and turned it into a highly successful systems integration company.

Combs’ appointment is the result of an extensive, nationwide search by Guitar Center management that led to an elite pool of candidates, with Combs’ skill set and personal history as a musician resonating with the selection team. Combs’ extensive expertise in eCommerce, digital marketing, mobile experiences, customer loyalty and demographic targeting will allow him to drive Guitar Center’s innovative branding efforts and marketing initiatives.     It is with mixed emotions that St Louis Music announces that Jim Eaton, the Vice President of Knilling and Orchestral Sales for over 6 years, has decided to retire effective Oct 1, 2014. He will remain with St Louis Music in an advisory role after his retirement. Jim is a product of public school music education, coming up through the great instrumental music program of the Normandy School District in St. Louis County. He began his career as a professional cellist in the Tulsa Philharmonic while attending the University of Tulsa.  He returned to his hometown and continued his career as an orchestral educator, maintained a large studio of private cello students and was regularly heard as a performing cellist.

Under Wood’s leadership, Beats, which is owned by Apple, has grown into a global household name and one of the most successful and recognizable consumer electronics companies in the world. Wood was also instrumental in facilitating the company’s recent acquisition by Apple Inc. Today he lends his more than 20 years of experience to Fender’s board. Wood will join Fender’s most recent additions to the company’s Board of Directors, U2’s Bono and The Edge, who were both appointed in May of this year.
