Kawai America debuted two new models in their award-winning series of digital pianos at the June NAMM show in Anaheim.
The new CN201 and CN301 replace the much sought-after CN29 and CN39, respectively. Upgraded attributes include a quieter keyboard action, connectivity to Kawai’s PianoRemote and PiabookPlayer apps for iOS and Android, and Low Volume Balance which balances the tone when played at low volumes and now both models feature Bluetooth audio.
These two new models utilize the improved RHIII action, giving pianists the distinctive touch of an acoustic piano by way of let-off and counterbalancing, while improved cushioning material helps to reduce keyboard noise resulting in a smooth, natural and highly authentic playing experience. Both models have Kawai’s Ivory Touch key surfaces.
Both models feature impressive Shigeru Kawai concert grand samples which provide rich, dynamic concert grand piano sounds that rival any piano in their price range.
A new highlight is the Low Volume Balance which intelligently adjusts keyboard touch and piano tone characteristics, allowing pianissimo passages to be played smoothly and more naturally when playing through speakers at a reduced volume setting.
The new CN201 and CN301 incorporate Bluetooth MIDI and Bluetooth audio, which allows wireless connectivity to external devices and audio streaming through the piano’s sound system.
The CN201 and CN301 feature Kawai’s exclusive Spatial Headphone Sound technology which enhances the depth and realism when using headphones. For aspiring pianists the new models include built-in lesson songs from Alfred as well as etudes from Czerny, Bergmuller and Beyer.
Both models boast Kawai’s exclusive Grand Feel pedal system, which further enhances the piano playing experience by replicating the individual weighting of grand piano pedals.
“These new CN models offer the touch, tone and advanced features traditionally found on much more expensive models”, states Alan Palmer, Kawai’s senior product specialist and development projects manager. “With our responsive actions and Shigeru Kawai concert grand samples these models are setting a new standard for mid-level pianos.”
Both models feature a sliding key cover and a matching, padded bench and are available in premium rosewood, premium satin black and premium satin white finishes.
The new Kawai CN201 and CN301 represent Kawai’s commitment to continually improving quality, performance and technology and are sure to exceed the expectations of pianists of every level.
