On the night of Sunday May 15th, Casey McWilliams, a lifetime pro audio and video industry veteran, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home in Commerce Township, Michigan.
Casey received a Liberal Arts degree from the University of Arizona in 1973. He then moved back to Michigan where he worked in sales for Phil Flora Associates. In 1978, Casey started his award-winning manufacturers sales rep firm CM Sales in Michigan, representing pro audio product lines such as Otari, Audio Technica, and Harman. In later years, he won awards such as Rep of The Year from Allen & Heath, Danley, Teachlogic, Sony Security Systems, IED, BSS, Listen Technologies, and countless others. But his most prized award came from dealers who considered him a friend and an ally in developing their businesses. For over 45 years, Casey helped friends find new career paths in the industry and guided them to success. After a life of enjoying business success, boating, water skiing, and fast motorcycles, Casey retired in 2021.
On the eve of May 15, right on cue, the universe noted Casey’s passing with a lunar eclipse—as if to welcome him home. He is survived by his wife Kathy McWilliams and daughter Megan McWilliams, both of whom adored him.
