Cordoba outlines NAMM offering

Cordoba has revealed its NAMM line-up, which includes new entry-level nylon string guitars and new ukuleles.

​Years after opening a boutique guitar workshop in Ventura County, California, the firm has announced its first US-made cutaway-electric nylon string guitar. The CE Custom balances traditional and contemporary nylon guitar design and was conceptualized from knowledge gleaned from Master series research and development combined with Córdoba’s most popular modern offerings.

Made with premium all-solid woods and featuring electronics by L.R. Baggs, it has been handcrafted by Córdoba’s Master Builders in its California Workshop, the CE Custom ships in a Córdoba deluxe hardshell humidified case and retails for around $3,999.99

The Córdoba 45 Limited brings another exotic wood choice to the brand’s Spanish-made España series. The solid European spruce top and black and white ebony back and sides of the 45 Limited combine to bring a modern spin to a classic Spanish design. Other premium features include a black and white ebony headplate and heelcap, ebony fingerboard, dual action truss rod, bone nut and saddle, Córdoba Premium gold plated tuning machines, and Savarez strings. A Humicase Protégé humidified wood case is included. Retail price is around $1,099.99

The firm has expanded its range of entry-level nylon string guitars. The new C1M adds a durable matte finish option to the already popular C1 (gloss) and is available in full, 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4 size. Starting at just $139 RRP, these guitars feature a spruce top with mahogany back and sides and are aimed at the student and school market. While affordably priced, the C1M still includes traditional design elements such as gold tuning machines, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, natural wood inlaid rosette and premium Savarez strings. A two-way adjustable truss rod allows teachers to customise the playability of each guitar for their students and provides stability for classroom conditions.  

The New 2017 Protégé by Córdoba Lineup: C1M Full –  $139.99; C1M 3/4 Size –  $139.99; C1M 1/2 Size –  $139.99; C1M 1/4 Size –  $139.99; C1 Full Size with gig bag –  $169.99; and C1 3/4 Size with gig bag – $159.99

Laslty the firm has redesigned its 25 Series of ukuleles.  The 25 Series all feature a solid exotic acacia top and figured acacia back and sides, with a lightly applied satin matte finish and a wooden rope pattern inlayed throughout the binding, rosette, and tie-block. The 25 Series ukuleles are available in soprano, concert, tenor, and tenor cutaway-electric sizes. Córdoba’s growing ukulele offering now includes 36 models that range from $79 – $649 and feature many tonewoods, ranging from traditional all-mahogany to more unique combinations like cedar and spalted maple. The 25 Series Lineup is: 25S –  $199.99;  25C –  $199.99; 25T –  $199.99; and 25T-CE – $249.99.
