EVH is launching a powerful new digital amp: the 5150III® Hypersonic™ 6L6 1×12. Designed to recreate the legendary sound of the EVH 5150III tube amp, this powerful combo amp uses massive digital processing giving players the power, clarity and dynamic response of a real tube amp, in a much lighter package that’s easy to carry to gigs and rehearsals. Paired with a premium Celestion speaker and closed-back cabinetry, this amp delivers the authentic EVH tone and volume guitarists expect.

The EVH 5150III Hypersonic 6L6 1×12 addresses the challenge of achieving authentic EVH tube tone without the weight, maintenance and volume constraints of traditional tube amplifiers. As home studios become more common and gigging musicians continue to travel, guitarists need a wide array of sounds from pristine-clean to high-gain, yet in a practical and portable format. This digital innovation honors Eddie Van Halen’s spirit of experimentation and boundary pushing creativity. By combining cutting-edge digital processing with premium components, the Hypersonic 6L6 1×12 gives guitarists the freedom to access that iconic EVH growl and clarity wherever they are.

“This represents the next evolution in EVH amplification, delivering Eddie’s iconic tone through innovative digital technology,” said Jon Romanowski, VP of Product of EVH Guitars. “The Hypersonic 6L6 1×12 breaks down the barriers that have kept players from accessing authentic EVH sound, making it more portable and versatile than ever before. Whether players are recording at home or performing on stage, this amp delivers that unmistakable EVH tone that made Eddie’s sound iconic.”

This amp takes player control to the next level with enhanced features designed for maximum versatility. Channel one and two include its own concentric gain, EQ and volume controls for precise tone shaping plus independent noise gate controls to eliminate unwanted background noise and keep performances tight. Channel three features have single knob controls for each and have a noise gate. The updated footswitch allows remote control of both reverb and effects loop selection during performances, while the power selector offers full power plus five attenuated settings, so guitarists can achieve their ideal tone at any volume level.

For recording and live sound applications, the amp includes a balanced XLR line output with built-in impulse response (IR) cabinet simulations that deliver studio-ready tones directly to mixing boards. A convenient mute switch enables silent stage monitoring and quiet recording sessions. At just 39 pounds, the Hypersonic offers exceptional portability without sacrificing tone. Available in classic black or elegant ivory vinyl covering, the EVH 5150III Hypersonic complements any guitarist’s aesthetic.

Watch Frankie Lindia, Los Angeles based guitarist, unleash the full sonic potential of the EVH 5150III Hypersonic 6L6 1×12 combo amp in The All-New 5150III Hypersonic 6L6 1×12 | EVH Gear. Using the EVH Striped Series, Frankie Lindia demonstrates the amp’s legendary tube-driven tone that made Eddie Van Halen’s sound iconic.

5150III® Hypersonic™ 6L6 1×12 ($1,699.99 USD, £1,549 GBP, €1,849 EUR, $2,199 AUD, ¥228,800 JPY) The EVH 5150III® Hypersonic™ 6L6 1×12 combo amp uses massive digital processing power to create a faithful model of the EVH 5150III 6L6 tube combo. A high-performance digital power amp achieves the headroom and dynamic range of a real tube amp, and when paired with a Celestion® speaker and plywood closed-back cabinetry, the result is EVH tone, volume and dynamics virtually indistinguishable from the all-tube original. These changes make the 5150III Hypersonic combo weigh substantially less than the all-tube version. Added concentric EQ controls for channels one and two, and independent noise gate controls for each channel, enhance the user experience. The included footswitch has also been updated to allow both reverb and effects loop selection. Other features include a power selector for full power and five attenuated settings, balanced XLR line output with impulse response (IR) cabinet simulations, and a mute switch for silent stage or recording use. The EVH 5150III Hypersonic amps are available in black or ivory vinyl covering.
