Faith Guitars has launched its range of Nomad short-scale guitars in the UK, following an unveiling at NAMM earlier this year.
The guitars use solid tone woods, with a scale length of 590mm, making them easy to transport, while retaining proper string tension and tuning.
The (FDNMG) Nomad Mini-Neptune is a scaled-down version of the popular baby-jumbo Neptune shape and features solid mahogany top, back and sides with a satin finish. Likewise, the (FDS) Nomad Mini-Saturn is the smaller version of Faith’s incredibly popular square-shouldered dreadnought Saturn series. This features a solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, again with a satin finish.
Both guitars are equipped with a CnR3 proprietary preamp and pickup system that offers a 3 band EQ, a fully featured tuner with digital VU display and a phase button to help combat on-stage feedback. All come with a Faith Nomad branded gigbag.
The Nomad Mini-Saturn and Mini-Neptune retail for £429 and £439 respectively and are available to order from the Barnes and Mullins sales team and via its online portal.
In addition the Faith Guitars Venus Blood Moon model is now available in UK stores following the initial sell out success of the first arrivals in December 2015.
The OM style electro cutaway continues in the vein of other models from the Faith Guitars line-up by using innovative tonewoods for both sonic variety and aesthetic impact. Tonally, it is similar in timbre to a solid mahogany instrument, but benefits from a slightly more pronounced treble response.
Given the characteristics and quality of the Javanese High-Figure Trembesi tonewood used on the top, back and sides of the Venus Blood Moon, the guitar can only be produced when suitably high figure timber is harvested.
“We have been blown away by the beauty of these Blood Moon instruments”, commented Alex Mew, Faith Guitars’ brand manager. “Although we have used attractive Trembesi on the back of previous instruments, we discovered that there were locations from which we could find the most incredibly figured timbers. This class of figure is highly-prized by woodworkers, and so we set about testing it as a sole tonewood for guitars. Delighted with the sound, Patrick Eggle and I worked on finding the right colour palette to further enhance the natural appearance, and after a few trials, the Blood Moon Burst was finalised.”
Each Venus Blood Moon model, which retails for £849, is complemented by solid Flamed Maple binding, Ebony Fittings and a Faith Hardcase.
