NAMM Musikmesse Russia, an international fair for musical instruments, sheet music, music production and music business connections, and Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia, an international fair of technologies and services for entertainment, integrated systems and creation, will return to Moscow’s Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre from September 15-18, 2016.

The Moscow shows serve to unite the music industry around products, artist performances, and professional development. Now in its fifth year, the 2016 exhibition will mix traditional events such as the Theatre Forum, Piano Days, Rental Companies Forum, and conferences for dealers with several exciting new events including the International Orchestra Festival “Big Band Show,” ONstage Forum seminars by top professionals for government procurement auctions, and a conference for students of technical and theatre faculties from Russian universities.

Along with a multitude of sessions and events across the shows, top international and domestic manufacturers and distributors of leading brands will introduce new products and modern technologies to industry specialists from Russia, the CIS, Europe, Asia and America. Confirmed participating companies include Stagemarket, Serapid (France), LTM, Clay Paky, Martin Professional, Show Atelier, Robe, SiM, Contactica, Sofit Light, Theatrical Technological Systems, Roland, OKNO-Audio, Ruton S, Asia, Sundrax, Kvant Ltd., and many others.

In addition to the product exhibitions in the pavilions, which will feature musical instruments and accessories, novelty lighting, sound and video equipment, projection and laser systems, installations and show-technologies from leading manufacturers, visitors will be able to visit special product demonstration zones. One of these open-air platforms will consist of different line arrays and acoustic systems demonstrating the capabilities of concert sound equipment. Performances from up-and-coming young musicians, as well as leading popular acts will perform throughout the duration of the show on NAMM Musikmesse Russia’s Live Music Stage.

A highlight for all visitors will be the International Orchestra Festival “Big Band Show” including the Brass Band Centre of the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Moscow State Institute of Culture, and the International Information Centre Orchestra. The festival will include many other musical interactions, including a series of master-classes by Russian and international masters of orchestral and instrumental genres, colorful, live orchestras and marching bands.

Along with the many performances, NAMM Musikmesse Russia will hold the “Forum for Art Education.” The Moscow Department of Culture will lead a series of strategic discussion sessions for directors and teachers of art schools from Moscow and in the Moscow region in a comprehensive program tailor-made for the fair.

Events at Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia 2016 (September 15-17) will include compelling forums for attendees to broaden their expertise. The 2016 show will include:

•The Theatre Forum: an educational and business platform including master-classes, roundtables, seminars, workshops and a discussion center for directors, technical specialists, managers of theaters, and cultural and art institutions.

•The Rental Companies Forum organized by the Association of Rental Companies for CEOs and employees of rental companies and event agencies.

•The ONstage Forum: dedicated to showcasing event organization and technical features of domestic and international productions that in September will be expanded to a two-day forum (September 16 and 17)

•The Company Euroshow, a leader of the Russian rental show-technologies industry, will again present the EUROSHOW Stage. Here, visitors will be able to watch a three-minute demonstration of unusual technological solutions and industry trends every 30 minutes.

New for 2016, Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia’s business program will feature a conference for students of technical and theatre faculties from Russian universities. Within the two-day conference, a series of seminars taught by managers and technical specialists from Russian and international rental companies, manufacturers of professional stage equipment, and leading experts of the event, theatre, and concert industries will take place. The conference will include a job fair for attending students.

The 2016 shows are presented in conjunction with the Moscow Ministry of Culture, the Moscow Conservatory, the Glinka National Museum Consortium of Musical Culture, the Bolshoi theatre, the International Information Centre “Orchestra,” the Russian Guild of Theatre Managers, the Russian Union of Theatre Workers, the Russian state musical TV center “Orpheus,” the Association of Musical Theatres, and many other public and private organizations.

Since 2012, Messe Frankfurt GmbH and NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants, have collaborated to produce NAMM Musikmesse Russia: the CIS’ only trade fair for musical instruments, sheet music, music production and music business connections, and Prolight + Sound NAMM Russia: Russia’s biggest show of technologies and services for entertainment, integrated systems and creation. The fairs continue to grow in reputation and attendance as the key professional event in the region for industry experts with visitors, partners, sponsors, events in business program, demonstrating their relevance and potential for further development. Over the past five years, nearly 45,000 industry professionals have visited the shows experiencing products and services from more than 500 companies from 25 countries, with the number of attendees continuing to grow: Last year alone, the shows experienced double-digit growth in the number of attendees.
