Gibson Custom Shop has announced its latest collaboration with one of rock’s most talented, and sonically innovative guitarists, Adam Jones, from the multi-platinum-selling and multiple Grammy Award® winning band Tool. The Adam Jones Flying V Collector’s Edition is available as a limited edition from Gibson Custom Shop at authorized, premium Gibson dealers and on www.gibson.com.

The new Adam Jones Flying V Collector’s Edition is an out-of-this-world limited-edition Flying V™ from Adam Jones and is designed and built to reflect his preference for heavier guitars. The Adam Jones Flying V Collector’s Edition features a non-weight relieved mahogany body, string-through ferrules, a Futura™-style split headstock design, custom appointments, a truss rod cover with exclusive artwork overlaid, and a meticulously applied Reverse Antique Silverburst finish. Aged by the artisans of the Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab, only 50 units have been hand-crafted by the expert luthiers and craftspeople of the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, TN, as part of this extraordinary limited run. The Adam Jones Flying V Collector’s Edition arrives with a hardshell case.

Arriving the same day as the guitar, is the Adam Jones Leather Guitar Strap and Brooch combo. Developed by Adam himself, the guitar strap is made in the USA from black 9/10 oz. latigo leather and is used by Adam on stage. The adjustable belt buckle-style hardware allows you to adjust the length between 52” and 60” in one-inch increments and it’s adorned with a Two-Headed Dog hand-cast and plated brooch developed by artist Alex Kuno. The Adam Jones Leather Guitar Strap and Brooch are exclusively available on Gibson.com HERE.

Adam was heavily involved in creating the Gibson Custom Shop Flying V Collector’s Edition. Utilizing his extensive experience in visual art, special effects, and design, Adam Jones is the director of the majority of Tool’s music videos and creates the visual experience on stage for the band. Adam Jones is world-renowned as the guitarist for the band TOOL, as well as his work as a visual artist, sculptor, videographer, producer, and special effects designer for films including Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, Edward Scissorhands, Ghostbusters II, Batman Returns, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, 4 and5, Dances with Wolves, Bride of the Re-Animator, Pet Sematary, Shocker, and License to Kill.
