On the heels of Guild’s signature model collaboration with Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil, Guild Guitars is proud to introduce a brand-new line of Polara electric guitars, in a variety of new trim levels. Ranging from stripped down and rock ready string through body designs, to the USA made S-100 Polara Kim Thayil Artist Edition, this updated range will appeal to a wide variety of players featuring design elements that span from classic 1970s to contemporary modern.

At the top of the range sits the flagship USA made S-100 Polara Kim Thayil, an artist spec instrument that brings Thayil’s preferred elements to life in a modern build. Guild HB-1 pickups hand-wound by Jason Lollar, old-growth Honduran Mahogany body and neck, and masterbuilt construction make these instruments ultra-premium and collectible.

Part of Guild’s Newark St. Collection is the Polara Kim Thayil, which includes Thayil’s preferred designs in a more accessible model. Joining the black version introduced in the Fall of 2023, new for NAMM 2024 is a Vintage White option which matches the aged white of some of Thayil’s treasured touring guitars.

The Polara Deluxe, Polara Night Edition, and Polara complete the line, each having a distinctive look and feature set. These range from a deluxe level ornamentation, like the bound fingerboard and block inlayed Polara Deluxe, to the sleek and blacked out aesthetic of the single pickup Polara Night Edition. The base level Polara trim offers a range of high gloss colors and no-frills aesthetics, ranging from the loud and 80s-esque Voltage Yellow to the modern, muted Phantom Green and Blue Steel. All models are equipped with high quality Alnico II or V Guild humbuckers, Tune-o-Matic bridges, set Mahogany necks, and an ultra-smooth and playable 24.75” scale length.

  • Guild USA Artist Edition S-100 Polara Kim Thayil $6,999 Street • $9,700 MSRP
  • Guild Polara Kim Thayil in Vintage White and Black $899 Street • $1,245 MSRP
  • Guild Polara Deluxe in Canyon Dusk Metallic, Cherry Red, and Vintage Sunburst $699 Street • $966 MSRP
  • Guild Polara Night Edition in Tungsten $549 Street • $760 MSRP
  • Guild Polara in Voltage Yellow, Blue Steel, Phantom Green $549 Street • $760 MSRP
