Hohner Harmonica has announced the release of the limited-edition Special 20 PINK harmonica, a vibrant and impactful addition to the instrument world. Throughout the month of October, recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Hohner is partnering with the American Cancer Society to support breast cancer research. On the partnership, Hohner Harmonica’s Brand Manager Jimmy Zednick states, “Hohner is proud to contribute a portion of the proceeds from every purchase of the Special 20 PINK harmonica in the month of October to support breast cancer research. This harmonica now carries a powerful message of hope, and we look forward to joining hands with the American Cancer Society in the fight against breast cancer.”
Tara Shirer, a Senior Development Manager for the American Cancer Society, and a recent breast cancer survivor shares, “I was diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer. As part of my treatment I had six rounds of chemotherapy and a year of Herceptin. Herceptin was funded and researched by the American Cancer Society. When I needed life-saving medicine, the American Cancer Society was there.”
The Special 20 is hailed as the most popular harmonica model in the U.S and is favored by first-time Harmonica students and legends alike, including Charlie McCoy and Blues Traveler’s John Popper. The Special 20 PINK includes all of the same beloved features of the original Special 20, offering a sturdy, moisture-resistant comb, reed plates manufactured to the tightest tolerances for maximum air tightness, ergonomically shaped stainless-steel covers, and precision-machined brass reeds to ensure comfortable handling and support heavy use.
