Hoshino (U.S.A.) Inc. Welcomes Paul Holdgate as Vice President of Sales

Hoshino (U.S.A.) Inc. (“Hoshino”) is delighted to announce the hire of Paul Holdgate to the newly-created role of Vice President of Sales. Hoshino is a wholly owned subsidiary of the privately held Hoshino Gakki Co., Ltd., manufacturer of Ibanez guitars and Tama drums, and headquartered in Nagoya, Japan.

Holdgate is no stranger to Hoshino, having worked as an independent Regional Sales Contractor for the Company for over 25 years, overseeing eight western U.S. states, including California.  During his tenure at Hoshino, Holdgate earned the coveted “Rep of the Year” award no less than eight times.

 As Vice President of Sales, Holdgate will supervise Hoshino’s entire national sales team, and report directly to President & CEO, Shogo Hayashi.

“Paul’s reputation as a titan in the industry precedes him; he knows all the key players, and they all know Paul and what he brings to the table,” said Hayashi.  More importantly, “over the years, Paul has dedicated himself to the success of all Hoshino brands and has been a consistent, top performer for the company. Understanding our customers is one of the most important elements that drives our business, and Paul’s proven track record in this regard speaks for itself.”

Equally important to his vast industry knowledge, Paul also possesses a keen understanding of musicians’ unique needs, being one himself. With a deep passion for making music, he’s worked as a guitarist and vocalist for numerous bands throughout his life. As such, he’s acutely aware of the evolving trends and dynamics within the music community.

Hoshino recently celebrated the milestone of 50 years of doing business in the U.S., and this hire marks the second newly created Vice President position at Hoshino in 2023.
