World-famous mouthpiece manufacturer JodyJazz, Inc. has announced that Tyler Schaefers has joined the company in the role of Product Specialist for the Rousseau and Chedeville Brands. Schaefers has a Masters Degree in Saxophone Performance from Illinois State University. In addition to his skill on the Saxophone he is also an accomplished Classical Clarinet player.

“Upon the completion of the Rousseau acquisition back in January of 2020, our plan was always to hire a dedicated product specialist with an expertise in Classical Saxophone,” said Colin Schofield, JodyJazz’s VP of Sales & Marketing. “Then of course the pandemic hit and with all that uncertainty we decided to put that new hire on hold. But now we are finally able to move ahead with that plan and we are delighted to welcome Tyler to the company.”

In this new role, Schaefers will support numerous important company functions through the provision of specialist product expertise. He will be the key liaison for the Rousseau and Chedeville Artist Endorsers, represent the two brands at Tradeshows and Educational events and will work directly to expand relationships with schools and colleges. He will be responsible for developing training programs to support the company’s sales activities and will also assist company President Jody Espina in the expansion and development of the Rousseau and Chedeville product ranges.

“We first met Tyler at the Midwest Clinic a few years back and since then he’s helped us with various small projects,” Schofield continued. “We’d always hoped that we’d be able to find a way for him to join our team after he had completed his

studies. Tyler’s background in classical music academia gives us some much needed insight in to that world and his prowess not only on Classical Saxophone but on Clarinet also, truly enriches of our company. The origin of JodyJazz mouthpieces was obviously rooted in Jazz but now as we expand into the Classical Saxophone and Clarinet worlds with Rousseau and Chedeville, Tyler’s particular skill set and experience will bring some much needed balance.”

Schaefers stated, “I’ve always been an admirer of Rousseau Classical Saxophone mouthpieces and was very impressed by the Chedeville Clarinet mouthpieces the first time I played them. I’m extremely excited to take on this role and look forward to helping Jody and the team expand the market for these two legendary brands.”
