On Friday August 11, New York natives Jules & The Jinks won the 2018 AFROPUNK Brooklyn Battle of the Bands, powered by D’Addario at the Knitting Factory Brooklyn. The band earned themselves a spot on the AFROPUNK Brooklyn Festival stage in Commodore Barry Park on August 25 and 26, where they’ll share the stage with some unbelievable talent including Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae, Miquel, Tyler, The Creator, and The Internet.
In addition to the chance to perform at the AFROPUNK Brooklyn Festival, Jules & the Jinks received custom D’Addario gear, a SJC snare drum, a Marshall Bluetooth Amp and a D’Angelico Guitar.
All of the participating 16 bands that battled it out over the course of five nights received D’Addario prize packages with NYXL and Nickel Bronze strings and gear from D’Addario Accessories. D’Addario representatives were on hand each night giving away D’Addario branded swag, registering Player Circle members and taking donations to the D’Addario Foundation.
