KORG has collaborated with keyboardist Jordan Rudess by releasing their first ever artist signature model of the KORG KRONOS; a staple in Rudess’ career with the progressive metal band, Dream Theater. This signature model was crafted just for Rudess, in an electric blue finish and completed with a distinctive Jordan Rudess logo, placed on the right-side surface of the synthesizer. This one-of-a-kind keyboard is a complete replica of the current model.
“KORG has played a tremendous part of my entire career and I’m honored to have the first custom painted keyboard that the company has ever created for an artist. My roots with KORG are deep. I began my affiliation with their gear as a product specialist in the 80s, an amazing time to be representing KORG at the height of the M1’s popularity. Since then, I’ve been the lucky beneficiary of the brands innovative instruments which I use on stages all over the world and in the studio for all of my recordings. Now, whenever I’m onstage and look down at this beautiful blue synth, I’ll be thinking of my KORG Family and how they continue to create the instruments that endlessly inspire me,” says Rudess.
As a long-time member of the KORG family, he has provided important product feedback throughout the years and has helped create some of the sounds heard, specifically in the KORG Kronos.
“Jordan and KORG have a stellar relationship that dates back quite a bit. He is one of our largest advocates for KRONOS and many other products in our line, so it was a pleasure to create this one of a kind KRONOS for him in support of his artistry, music, and upcoming tour,” explains James Sajeva, director of Music Technology Brands at KORG USA, Inc.
