Magnatone Amplifiers, manufacturer and distributer of high-end, vintage boutique guitar amplifiers is pleased to announce that Rod Washburn has been hired as General Manager effective January 2020.
Reporting to Ted Kornblum, President & CEO, Rod will oversee all production, sourcing, business strategy and implementation, as well as marketing and sales reporting.
In addition, Rod will oversee the company’s dealer base, building strategic partnerships and opportunities domestically and internationally to grow the brand.
“Rod’s understanding of retail sales management along with his manufacturing and budgetary responsibilities make him uniquely qualified for Magnatone” says Kornblum.
Rod spent several years working at The Music People as a Project Manager.
He then joined KMC Music as product line manager, where he managed both proprietary as well as distributed brands.
Rod also worked with Black Cat Pedals bringing on board such artists as Marc Ford, Cindy Cashdollar, Ian Moore, Audley Freed, and Doyle Bramhall ll.
Rod worked at DL Reps for Dave Leitch in the New York and New England area as an independent sales rep working directly with retailers to ensure a healthy and friendly dealer network.
Most recently Rod worked for Sound Manufacturing where he had an active role in the manufacturing and production management of USA made metal parts.
“I have been extremely fortunate to have mentors that have taught me a great deal about the music industry along the way. I am excited to add my manufacturing, sales and management knowledge to Magnatone” said Rod.
