MMR attended the opening day of NAMM NeXT 2024, held July 17-18 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Nashville. Unlike a traditional Summer NAMM Show, this event took a unique approach to gathering industry professionals. Without exhibits, elaborate outfits, or loud parties in the hotel lobbies, around 200 attendees from the music industry came together to focus on business strategies and planning for the future. The event featured a roughly even split between manufacturers and dealers seeking innovative ways to grow their businesses.
NAMM NeXT 2024 focused on coaching attendees for growth, regardless of their market focus, with two days of seminars covering topics that impact our industry, including AI developments and entrepreneurial development. Many sessions were led by business thought leaders from outside the music industry, presenting innovative ideas in talks that are typically difficult to attend when working a booth or meeting with blue-badged buyers at a traditional trade show.
