New editor for Acoustic mag

Blaze Publishing’s Acoustic magazine has appointed Steve Harvey as editor – one of the original founders of the title. 

Harvey is well-known in the industry, running Blaze Publishing’s successful music shows, and has edited Acoustic magazine previously, co-founding it in late 2004 and editing the first 20 issues. 

He has stayed close to the acoustic sector in his role as Event Manager for the London Acoustic Show, and his most recent editorial post as editor of Music Industry News.

“Acoustic guitars have been my passion (some would say obsession) ever since my first guitar lesson at primary school. Being so involved with the launch and early years of Acoustic was a definitely highlight of my career thus far, but the opportunity to be involved with the magazine, at a time when acoustic guitars and acoustic music are on such a high, is very exciting.

“I have always said to Wes (Stanton, MD of Blaze) that I would love to edit Acoustic magazine again if the opportunity were ever to arise,” continued Steve. “I am glad I am able to step into the role given that I have a position of substantial knowledge and experience in this segment of the MI market.”

Commenting on Harvey’s appointment, Stanton said: “Steve and I have worked on several projects over the last few years and we are lucky that someone of Steve’s experience is available to ensure continuity on Acoustic magazine. He is already heavily involved with the London Acoustic Show, so it’s a perfect fit for all of us.”
