Nord has unveiled the latest version of its Stage piano series – the Stage 3.
It has three sound generating sections; Piano, Organ and Synthesizer, all of which can be used simultaneously. There’s also two separate slots allowing a musician to have two pianos, two organs and two synths plus effects at the same time. As well as the addition of OLED displays in the Program and Synth sections, the keyboard has double the memory for its Piano Library, with polyphony being expanded to 120 voices, and the Synth section now features the synth engine from the Nord Lead A1.
It also has three Split Points and a new Split Point Crossfade functionality, providing a choice of three different crossfade widths (Small, Large or Off) indicated by different LED colours.
A new Split Point Editor Mode allows the user to organise and set up Split Points using the OLED display for an overview of the assigned sound sources for each Split zone.
It also supports Program change via pedal allowing for flexible program changes (up/down) while playing the keyboard.
It is available in three models: Nord Stage 3 88 with a fully weighted Hammer Action keybed (A-C); Nord Stage 3 HP76 with a lightweight Hammer Action Portable keybed (E-G) and Nord Stage 3 Compact with a 73-note Semi Weighted Waterfall keybed (E-E) with Physical Drawbars.
It is expected to be available in July, with pricing to be announced.
