North Bridge Winds completed another “music education” tour with Paul Edmund-Davies, that visited; Wilkes-Barre, Williamsport, State College, and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; as well as Wilmington, Delaware, and Murray, Utah. The Mission Possible Tour partners included Robert M. Sides Music, Summerhays Music, Windworks Studio, and Warfield’s Fine Flutes.

Flutists enjoyed a free interactive event, as they played along to movie soundtracks that feature Paul Edmund-Davies on flute. Mr. Edmund-Davies is featured on many sound tracks including: Harry Potter, Star Wars, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Thor: The Dark World, Crimson Peak, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Interstellar, and Into the Woods.

Paul Edmund-Davies established his reputation as flautist in the twenty years that he was principal flute of the London Symphony. For the last 15 years, he has toured extensively, giving recitals, classes, and concerts in the USA, Europe, Canada, Australia, Middle East, and Far East. Most recently, Mr. Edmund-Davies and his business partner, Pasha Mansurov, created the Simply Flute lifestyle website at simplyflute.com.

North Bridge provides heavy retail support for their music education tours, including: full page ads in Flute Talk, and Flutist Quarterly (National Flute Organization publication), a direct mailing to the entire National Flute Association membership, localized Facebook blasts, slat wall tour displays, individualized flyers and foam core posters, social media videos from Paul leading up to the event, and personal phone calls to key educators from Paul Edmund-Davies. The result is usually a packed house. Over 110 flutists showed up for the Harrisburg show.

Chris Behrens of Summerhays Music commented, “The Mission Possible experience featuring Paul Edmond Davies and North Bridge Flutes deserved an Oscar. Paul did an incredible job getting everyone involved in the clinic, talking about the importance of a nicer flute, sharing some laughs… and more importantly each person, regardless of skill level, left with a piece of knowledge that will accelerate their flute playing.”

All North Bridge flutes feature a sterling silver headjoint that is handmade in the USA by flute artisan Chris McKenna. For over 30 years, Chris McKenna has been crafting some of the finest flute headjoints in the world. The North Bridge flute pairs a McKenna headjoint with a blended and constructed flute body that is assembled in Taiwan.

When asked about North Bridge flutes, Mr. Edmund-Davies simply commented, “In a saturated flute market, North Bridge step up flutes shine brightly. Great work from a company that understands what young flutists are really looking for.”
