Dedicated to shaping the future of music education, the Pearl Educational Advisory Board will guide curriculum development, support programs in need, and offer free tutorials and entertainment content. As a leading manufacturer of musical instruments, Pearl values the development of musicians at all levels—from students and educators to professionals—and the EAB is central to this mission. In addition to educational development, the EAB will aid in the design and advancement of Pearl’s Band & Orchestra instruments to meet the needs of future generations of musicians. The EAB’s mission is to support musicians of every age and stage—fostering growth, creativity, and a lifelong passion for music.
“Music education has been at the heart of Pearl since the beginning, and being able to give back to the school Band & Orchestra community with the insight and support of our all-star board means the world to us,” says Glen Caruba, Pearl’s VP of Sales & Marketing.
The EAB will be led by Thom Hannum, Pearl’s new Director of Education, and consists of 10 inaugural board members from across Pearl’s roster of world-class Concert, Marching, and Drumset Artists. Board members include: Julie Davila(MTSU, PAS Board of Directors), Lalo Davila (MTSU), Matt Jordan (University of Michigan), Ji Hye Jung (Vanderbilt University), Will Kennedy (USC Thornton School of Music), Gene Koshinski (University of Delaware, Quey Percussion), Colin McNutt(Boston Crusaders), Mark Thurston (WGI Director of Percussion), Ivan Trevino (The University of Texas at Austin), and John Wooton (University of Southern Mississippi).
