Peavey UK has launched the invective Series .120 guitar amplifier head in the UK.
Available for the first time through Peavey’s exclusive UK distributor Barnes and Mullins, the invective Series has been designed in collaboration with Periphery’s Misha Mansoor and is designed with features to help guitarists achieve the most revered metal sounds, from woody and clean to the most extreme of high gain tones.
Aimed at guitarists with heavier tastes, the invective .120 head packs four matched JJ 6L6GC output tubes with top-loaded bias test points and adjustment. It boasts a single input with four key channels: Clean channel with boost drive and tone; (very) Clean channel with gain/low/mid/high/post; Lead/Crunch channel input with muting gate threshold; and Lead/Crunch channel with boost level and tone – all channels are remote switchable. Furthermore, both the ‘Lead’ and ‘Crunch’ channels have independent pre-and post-gain controls as well as shared low/mid/high EQ.
On the rear panel of the invective .120 head, there are paralleled speaker outputs with an impedance selector, an MSDI direct output with Level/Tone/Ground Lift, MIDI out/thru, MIDI footswitch input, remote switchable rack loop and effects loop, half-power switch, and two 9VDC at 500mA auxiliary power jacks. The included footswitch contains nine presets to offer players even more tone options and flexibility.
Available in the UK soon, Peavey’s invective .212 and .412 cabinets are perfectly suited for use with the invective .120 head. Premium 12” Celestion Vintage 30 paired with Creamback G12H-75 speakers have been specifically designed and voiced to reproduce modern metal tones. Finger-jointed pine construction, removable EDL casters and premium components are designed to ensure durability and reliability as well as delivering responsive dynamics.
Peavey’s invective .120 head is available to buy in UK stores now, retailing for £2180 RRP.
Misha Mansoor will be using a .120 rig during his main stage appearances at the upcoming UK Guitar Show, London Olympia, 29-30th September. Show visitors will also have the chance to try it for themselves by visiting Peavey UK’s booth (A96) at the show.
