PMT will be opening its14th store on Huntingdon Street, Nottingham, this weekend (Saturday 1st October).
The shop will have 6,000 square feet of retail space and boast a number of in-store features including a branded Fender ‘subway’ wall, which will feature over 700 electric Fender and Squier guitars at any one time; another wall will be entirely dedicated to Gibson and Epiphone guitars and yet another featuring PRS, Ibanez, Schecter, Yamaha, Gretsch, ESP and Jackson guitars.
There will also be a dedicated bass guitar department; a Vox amp display and an Orange booth filled with the latest Orange Amplifiers; an acoustic suite will feature two booths, one branded by Yamaha and the other by Taylor, where guitarists can try out acoustic guitars in a quiet, enclosed area plus a D’Addario, Jim Dunlop and MXR ‘accessories bar’, bespoke to the Nottingham store.
The first floor will be dedicated to drums, including a Yamaha and Mapex installation; a Roland electronic Demo Centre; a ‘Cave of Cymbals’, composed of major cymbal brands Zildjian, Sabian and Paiste; and the first-ever fully-functional, acoustically-treated drum booth in a PMT Store.
The high-tech area will feature walls of synthesizers and keyboards from Roland, Yamaha and Nord, plus a bespoke Korg installation.
There will also be a an in-store studio monitor reference centre, where you can test studio monitors, audio interfaces and headphones from Yamaha, Genelec, KRK, M-Audio, Sennheiser, Mackie, Shure, Universal Audio, Focusrite, RME and Beyerdynamic in a music studio-style environment; a PA and Live Music Stage, where you can test the latest PA speakers and systems and watch in-store masterclasses, clinics and performances.
And, lastly, a DJ area holding stock from Pioneer, Numark, Novation, Native Instruments and Roland.
The opening will include an exclusive competition for those visiting the shop in October to win a Taylor guitar, in-store offers and a giveaway that includes guitar pedals, strings, drumsticks and more.
